Biography of Janelle Wynn
Janelle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) within the state of New Jersey. She received her Bachelors (2015) and Masters of Arts in Social Work (2016) from Salisbury University. She has over 10 years of experience working with a variety of ages and within a variety of settings including inpatient psychiatric care, outpatient behavioral health, and adult partial care. She has almost 4 years of experience working and interning within medical settings including an oncology program, palliative care, and hospice. Her true passions reside in working with grief and loss, transitional periods, and caregiver burn-out. She enjoys treating individuals struggling with people-pleasing tendencies, depression, anxiety, grief, anger, and trauma. She is most comfortable working with those ages 16 and older. Janelle is a trained and certified grief counseling specialist and has completed training in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). She utilizes a strengths-based, person-centered approach and will often utilize concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In addition, she has utilized and attended training for Illness Management & Recovery (IMR) and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), evidence-based practices for those with chronic and persistent mental health concerns.
Janelle has co-written the SEEN ABLE Sibling Support Group Book alongside her husband, Aaron Wynn. They have piloted sibling support groups under the UPCI ABLE Ministries umbrella within their NJ/DE Church District and they currently facilitate a monthly support group. These groups focus on the impact that disability has on siblings within the family unit, navigating and normalizing feelings, and ultimately helping "glass children" feel seen, heard, and understood. Janelle was blessed to be a speaker for the first-ever ABLE family church camp (Camp IncredABLE) hosted by the Louisiana District in 2024. She is an active part of the leadership team within her local church, facilitating home groups and Bible studies and working behind the scenes within administration and multimedia. She is about to assist in co-facilitating a new Grief Recovery Method group hosted by her home church.
